From 2014 Mayfield School becomes the first state all-through-school in Portsmouth. It is evolving from a secondary school of 1000 youngsters to introduce a new reception class in September.
This blog is to share our successes and how we have evolved teaching and learning across the year groups in a rapidly improving school.
Numeracy Across The Curriculum is a key strand within Mayfield's Teaching and Learning and CPD program. The INSET day on 2/9/14 outlined two initial changes to get the ball rolling. Here is the latest MAC Newsletter
Below are some of the key slides which explain the numeracy focus of the half term and the introduction of our new Numeracy logo! More to come on Numeracy soon....
Loving the maths problem of the week (apart from week 3 because I'm still stuck on that!) Could be an idea to get an A5 template for each pupil to write in (for ease) just name, tutor group, easy question, hard question. Jennifer Bartlett
Fab Sessions - thanks! We are all starting to include numeracy :O)
