  1. Well, what a whirlwind SEN has been through over the last year! SEN reforms mean we all have a greater responsibility to ensure we understand the SEN students in our classrooms. Thanks to our SENCo, the student SEN information is much more readily available, and clear; we are all able to contribute strategies and support each other with teaching students with educational needs.
Further information on our students is held in the SEN folder, go to: ‘RMStaff’ ‘SEN’ and all the relevant folders are there. If you are looking for EAL information and help, this is also where you can find the EAL folder. (EAL students are not SEN students but the folder must go somewhere!).
If you are unaware of the changes, or want a recap, follow this link; it will take you to the five things schools, and teachers, should know about SEN reforms. http://www.theguardian.com/teacher-network/teacher-blog/2014/feb/10/special-educational-needs-sen-reforms-five-things
Still finding differentiation a struggle in your classroom? Don’t forget our greatest resource - our LSAs; speak to them they have great ideas that could help you differentiate for your students. They can often see where differentiation is not working in your lesson and can point you in the right direction; remember they know the student they support very well and have the advantage of seeing what works for that student in other lessons.
